DEAD CAN DANCE era uma banda composta por Lisa Gerrard e Brendan Perry (ambos vocalistas e compositores) formada em Melbourne, em 1981, na Austrália. 

Separam-se em 1998, mas tanto Lisa Gerrard como Brendan Perry continuam a produzir musica a solo (ver respectivas páginas oficiais nos links)

Uns quantos sortudos que estejam hoje lá para os lados do Oceano Índico poderão apreciar um acontecimento raro, quando um eclipse solar anelar transformar o sol num disco negro com uma luminosa coroa à volta, em forma de anel.

Nos eclipses solares, a lua posiciona-se entre o sol e a terra, projectando a sua sombra na superfície terrestre. Um ligeiríssimo desacerto no alinhamento dos 3 astros leva a que a lua não cubra completamente a face visível do sol, como acontece nos eclipses totais, assim dando origem ao deslumbrante eclipse anelar.
